"Double Bond" Polyurethane developed by Griffith Polymers.

"Double Bond" Polyurethane, Custom Molded Parts

Double Bond Polyurethane is a unique material that offers the elasticity of rubber combined with the toughness and durability of metal.   Because Double Bond polyurethane is available in a very broad hardness range (eraser-soft to bowling-ball hard), it allows the engineer to replace rubber, plastic and metal with the ultimate in abrasion-resistance and physical properties.

Double Bond polyurethane can reduce plant maintenance and OEM (original equipment manufacturers) product cost.  Many applications using this ultra-tough material have cut down-time. maintenance time, and cost of parts to a fraction of the previous figures.  Typical parts in this category include processing rolls of all types, belts, metal forming pads, wear strips, bumpers, wiper blades, and an endless range of custom parts.

HARDNESS AND RESILIENCE

The hardness of most practical products of "Double Bond" ranges between 20 durometer A and 75 durometer D.  The D scale is used to measure hardness greater than 95A.  Most rubbers fall between 20 and 80 on the A scale while structural plastics begin at 55 on the D scale.  "Double Bond" bridges the gap between rubber and plastic materials with respect to hardness.
